i thought we ought to even things up a little... go for it!.
no obscenities please.
I asked my huband what the fault of the British is..
His opinion.. was
They are pig headed, arrogant, I've done it so it must be right attitudes..
I fell off my computer chair on the floor laughing my head off..
I asked him why he felt that way. His response is that he works with them and this is just the way they are.
Sheesh.. good thing he doesn't post here , he wouldn't last long.. hahahahahahaha He'd be shark food.
Oh, did I mention he's (don't tell anybody this.. american) wink wink..

about 10 minutes ago i had a visitor!
she was a sister that we used to pal around with, we had several dinners together and she and her husband and my husband played cards together.
Hi Sunspot
This is just fabulous news. I'm so happy for you.
I remember one particular couple my husband and I were close to (when we were J.W.'s) and I still miss them dearly.
Again, I'm happy for you. enjoy all the catch up talk and socialization.

i use a cell all the time.
some states want to outlaw the use of these phones while driving....got an opinion on that?
?
I guess for me, I have to decide whether being able to drive is a responsiblity or a right.
I've taught my oldest son to drive this year and I keep telling him it is a responsiblity to drive and that he is responsible for those within the car and those outside the car to drive defensively and to be focused.
I have also told him, as far as his right to drive, it can be revoked by the laws of the land if he is caught disregarding his responsiblity, or his right to drive can be also taken away by me.
He has my cell phone a lot of the time and My #1 Rule for him is don't answer the phone if you are driving. and #2 rule is make sure you pull off into a safe area to do call backs or make calls.
I see too many cell phone users stopping to use their cell phones in the most dangerous areas of the road and think Sheesh.. it would have been better if they would not have stopped at all because here they are pulled half off the road on this blind crest or in the middle of this huge turn. I can't see past them...What's with clarity of thinking on that one?
I haven't found cell phone users a problem on the open big highways..lots of passing lanes and long stretches of road.
Where I seem to have all the near misses are with those who use cell phones in high traffic areas, in towns and in the cities .. and most of the time they are oblivious to what accidents they just almost caused.

p.s I have a new kitten that needed to go to the vet last week. I had it in a box to take it there but the clever little guy got out. It was a horror story of a drive. With this cat screaming and jumping up on the dash and climbing on my head crying out in protest. Digging its claws into me out of fright. What a nightmare that was. I definitely am investing in a pet carrier. I should have gave the cat my cell phone so he could have did his meow screaming in that.
Kittys in cars.. wow what a reciepe for disaster.

have any of you thought of going to college since you left the jw's?
now that its not forbidden and you are free to do what you want .... it should not matter how old you are.
i know...... you think: i am 35 or 40 or 52, go to college?
Got ya Sally I understand the route you are thinking about now.
A steady pay check when you live on your own with a young daughter. Yes, I can see how that is quite necessary.
I guess that there are many mature students who have got their degrees through correspondence courses; a night or two a week credits.. and teleconferencing. I took some teleconference courses through a University a few years back. I rather liked it. Gave me flexibility, no long distance travelling and still got to talk to the professor through the teleconferencing avenue.
Depending where you are real estate business can be good.. depends on where you live I guess. It would certainly give you more flexibility I would think.
I just know you'll figure something out, Sally.

I agree seeit.. Go for it Sally,
I think that some Universities have child care now even.. or maybe even subsidize child care. I forget how old your daughter is.. seem to recollect her being between the 3 - 5 age bracket.
That would be cool. Go back for a degree and have your daughter somewhere on campus ..
all the best Sally..

Hi Ian
Just wanted to let you know that I am checking back in to see how you are doing as well as your family.
You are in my thoughts everyday and I find it hard to think what I can possibly do. That feeling like your hands are tied is frustrating.
So, my good thoughts and vibes are sent your way everyday. Whenever I have my tea, .. at least two times a day, I light me tea light and think good positive vibes and send them across the Atlantic to you and your family.
The next time you feel a nice comforting breeze while sitting outside.. that's from me, Ian.
I just want you to know that I am listening intently through your posts.
I hear what you are saying and sharing here, Ian.
(( Ian ))

my visit to jesus' tomb -- in japan!
from an asleep!
so therefore, christ must've lived in the village.
Nice piece of historical data but .. Is there such a thing as fairytale history or what?
Very interesting though.
Ozzie I was thinking the same thing.. seems a bit mormon like..
While Jesus lived in Japan did he change his name to Joseph Smith by chance?.. kidding
I enjoy very much reading of your travels leolaia.. thanks for sharing your journey pictures and thoughts.
sincerely
